Privacy Policy

Effective 21 July 2026

This policy explains how the operator of CricKizuna handles personal information across the website, applications, APIs, and related services.

Who we are

CricKizuna is provided by its operator ("we", "us"). For information about account holders and visitors to our website, we act as the data controller. For personal information that a club or organization adds about its members, that club or organization is normally the controller and we act as its processor, handling the information on its instructions. You can reach us about privacy through our contact page below.

Information we collect

We collect account and profile details, club and team records, membership and role information, events, availability, communications, payment-status records, support enquiries, and technical information such as device, browser, IP address, and service logs. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by CricKizuna unless expressly stated.

How we use information

We use information to provide and secure the service, authenticate users, operate club workflows, process requested transactions, deliver notifications, answer enquiries, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, understand product performance, comply with legal duties, and improve CricKizuna.

Our legal grounds

Depending on your location, we process personal information to perform our contract with you, pursue legitimate interests such as service security and improvement, comply with legal obligations, and act on consent where consent is required. A club or organization may be the controller of member information it adds to CricKizuna, while we process that information on its instructions.

How information is shared

Information is shared with authorized members of your clubs according to their roles and visibility settings. We may also share it with service providers that support our operations — for example, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, hosting and infrastructure, analytics, and customer support — under agreements that require them to protect it. We may disclose information to authorities when legally required, or as part of a corporate transaction. We do not sell personal information.

International processing

CricKizuna and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including outside your region. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet contractual and legal requirements, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Retention periods vary by data type and account status. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer required, subject to backups and legal obligations.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls and secure service operations. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong, unique password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal information, or object to certain processing. You can manage many club and account details in the product. Club members may need to direct requests about club-controlled data to their club administrator. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in Japan this is the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC).

Children and safeguarding

You must be at least 13 years old to hold a CricKizuna account, and if you are under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live) you may use it only with the consent of a parent or guardian and the involvement of your club. Organizations that manage information about minors must obtain the authority, notices, consents, permissions, and safeguarding measures required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies and similar technology

We may use essential browser storage and similar technology to keep users signed in, preserve preferences, protect the service, and understand performance. Where required, non-essential technology will be used only after an appropriate choice is provided.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as CricKizuna or applicable law changes. We will post the revised date and provide appropriate notice when a change materially affects how personal information is handled.
